The residency of the 'A Foundation Liverpool' was affected by precarious living conditions and their peculiar charm:
Entire blocks were barricaded against illegal residents, mobile phones were offered to me at ridiculous prices when I sat on the front steps and sipped at some whiskey.
Fathers trained their sons in boxing behind wooden fences on Easter Sunday and on every weekend the puke puddles in front of the pubs were refilled with bleeding noses, while the recently deceased were commemorated with inset brass plaques at the bar.
